Lance B. Phillips
Lawyer
Lance B. Phillips graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in 1996.
Lance has been a trial lawyer for almost 27 years and has appeared in all 77 counties in Oklahoma. His primary focus is criminal defense at the city, state, and federal levels, but he also represents clients in dissolution of marriage, guardianship, and adoption matters.
Lance truly believes in Abraham Lincoln’s quote: “No man stands so tall as when he stoops to help a child.” He is routinely brought into family law matters as the guardian ad litem for children. He has been a volunteer and part-time employee of Oklahoma Lawyers for Children. He is currently a contract employee of the Oklahoma Public Defenders office representing children in contested adoption matters.
He is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and licensed in all three Federal Districts in Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Abigail M. Patten

Abigail M. Patten, graduated from the University of West Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business. She earned her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law and began practicing in April, 2017.
Before Lance and Abby started Phillips Patten Law, Abby spent 4 years as an Assistant Public Defender at the Oklahoma County Public Defender’s Office, wherein she worked on the Guardianship, Adoption, Criminal Misdemeanor and Felony Revocation dockets. Since that time her main focus has been family law cases from divorce and paternity to guardianships (minor and adult) and adoptions. Abby is also a contract attorney for the Oklahoma Public Defenders office representing children in contested adoption matters.
She is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. She was named a 405 Top Attorney for Family Law in 2023 and a 405 Top Attorney for Adoption Law in 2024.
